The Baltimore City Circuit Court will operate with a reduced staff on Monday, February 23, due to funeral observances for Clerk Frank M. Conaway, Sr. His funeral is set for 11 a.m. that day.
Circuit Administrative Judge W. Michel Pierson expressed the community's sorrow: "All members of our courthouse community are deeply saddened by the loss of our long-time Clerk, Frank M. Conaway, Sr." The court aims to accommodate those wishing to attend the funeral while maintaining essential services. "We are, of course, obeying our mandate to provide citizens with access to justice," said Judge Pierson, highlighting Conaway’s dedication to serving the community.
To allow attendance at the funeral, court proceedings will be suspended during its duration except for essential operations. The clerk’s office will continue receiving filings throughout the day.
Employees attending the funeral may take up to four hours of administrative leave. Jurors scheduled for Monday service will be rescheduled for a later date.
