Independence man arrested for juvenile pornography; investigation continues

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's Cyber Crime Unit has arrested a man from Independence, Louisiana. The arrest took place on November 6, 2024.

Michael L. Strahan, 23, residing on Arthur Bankston Road in Independence, faces charges for violating LA R.S. 14:81.1 Pornography Involving Juveniles under the age of 17. He is charged with 20 counts of this felony.

The investigation began after a tip-off from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. It was conducted jointly by General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the Louisiana State Police Fugitive Task Force, and the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Strahan has been booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Information regarding his bond is currently unavailable.

The investigation remains ongoing.
