Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has initiated an Election Day Rapid Response Legal Team across major counties in the state. This team is tasked with overseeing election activities on the day of voting and addressing any legal issues that may arise.
The team's primary role is to enforce Texas election laws and respond promptly to any irregularities, such as ballot shortages or extended polling closures. They are also prepared to counteract efforts by activist groups that might attempt to influence the election through legal means. Coordination with the Texas Secretary of State will ensure swift resolution of any problems, aiming for fair and secure elections.
Attorney General Paxton has been active in safeguarding Texas elections against unlawful practices. His actions include suing municipalities for misusing taxpayer funds on voter registration materials sent to potentially ineligible individuals, including a case where forms were mailed to a deceased person. He has also requested information from the Biden-Harris Administration about citizenship statuses of possibly illegally registered voters and pursued legal action over noncompliance. Furthermore, he is defending Senate Bill 1, aimed at securing the state's election process.
“There is no issue more important and more fundamental to our nation than election integrity,” stated Attorney General Paxton. “Our Election Day Rapid Response Legal Team will be on the frontline on November 5th. We will defend the ballot box from any bad actors seeking to unduly influence or illegally undermine Texas elections.”
