Attorney General Todd Rokita has issued a consumer alert to residents regarding potential hazards associated with certain products recalled during the holiday season. He emphasized the importance of vigilance in ensuring the safety of gifts received by children.
“Christmas may have passed, but our children’s gifts could still be dangerous,” Attorney General Rokita stated. “As a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or friend, you should not have to worry if a product you purchased for your precious little one could cause harm. Do not allow a flawed product to put your family in danger. Please stop using recalled items immediately and pursue resolution from the manufacturer.”
The Consumer Product Safety Commission reported several recalls in December. These include high-powered magnetic balls sold on Walmart.com and JoyBuy due to ingestion hazards; dress-up playsets and slime eggs imported by Perch, Amusty, and Bingo Deals due to violations of federal phthalates and lead content bans; HEAO high chairs sold on Amazon.com due to suffocation, entrapment, and laceration risks; Griffin Duo bunk beds from Room & Board due to collapse risks; Polaris Industries' RZR 200 youth recreational off-road vehicles due to crash hazards; and Vornado's expanded recall of Steamfast travel steam irons for fire, burn, and shock hazards.
Consumers are advised to stop using any recalled products immediately. They should check the recall notice for instructions on returning the product or obtaining a replacement.
