Attorney General Todd Rokita has successfully reunited Indiana residents with a record-breaking $81 million in unclaimed property for the year 2023. The Attorney General encourages individuals to visit IndianaUnclaimed.gov to check if they have any unclaimed money.

"We set the record last year by returning over $81 million to our hardworking Hoosiers who deserve to have their money returned," said Attorney General Rokita. "My office is committed to serving the people of Indiana and protecting their individual liberty. Getting unclaimed property back in the hands of its rightful owner is crucial."

In 2023, Rokita's office surpassed the previous record set in 2014, with a total of $191 million returned since he took office. Unclaimed property typically includes financial assets without activity from the owner for an extended period.

The Unclaimed Property Division within the Attorney General's office conducts outreach efforts to locate rightful owners or heirs. Individuals and businesses have up to 25 years to claim reported funds.

For those interested, new property listings are regularly added to IndianaUnclaimed.gov. Hundreds of millions of dollars remain unclaimed, offering potential returns this year.

People can also search for unclaimed assets by texting CLAIM to 46220 or contacting the Unclaimed Property Division at 1-866-462-5246 or [email protected]. The division maintains a presence on Facebook for updates.
