Attorney General Ashley Moody is collaborating with the Florida Tax Collectors Association to disseminate crucial information on voter fraud and crime prevention. This initiative will provide Floridians with direct access to resources from Attorney General Moody's office, focusing on fraud detection and crime prevention. Many tax collectors are now displaying materials such as the "Scams at a Glance" brochures, Florida’s voter fraud hotline, the state’s new human trafficking hotline, and an anonymous crime-reporting tip line known as **TIPS.
Attorney General Ashley Moody stated, “Floridians heading to their local tax collector office will now have access to resources with important information about voter fraud, consumer scams, human trafficking and more. This way, more Floridians will be equipped with the knowledge needed to avoid falling victim to scams, and they can also help law enforcement solve crimes.”
The partnership between Attorney General Moody and the FTCA began in May 2021, initially providing informational materials in Alachua, Clay, Duval, and Nassau counties. The program has now been expanded statewide.
Materials available at Florida Tax Collector offices include:
- YouCanStopHT.com: Offers guidance on identifying and reporting human trafficking.
- Florida's New Statewide Human Trafficking Hotline: 1(855) FLA-SAFE.
- DoseOfRealityFL.com: A resource outlining the risks of opioid misuse, how to identify addiction signs, and where to seek assistance.
- Scams at a Glance: Tools for recognizing common and emerging schemes to prevent falling victim to fraudsters.
- **TIPS: A unique statewide anonymous crime-reporting tip line.
- The Florida Voter Fraud Hotline: 1(850) 245-6684.
In August, Attorney General Moody urged tax collectors to showcase information related to voting-related crimes through Florida’s Voter Fraud Hotline—(850) 245-6684—in preparation for the 2024 elections. With this expanded partnership, tax collector offices across the state can now display materials concerning voter fraud and other crime-prevention initiatives from the Florida Attorney General’s Office.
