Juvenile Court seeks part-time youth coordinator for flexible role

A new job opportunity has been announced for a part-time Juvenile Court Youth Coordinator position. This role involves providing services to youth and their families during their involvement with the Juvenile Court. The position offers flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, totaling approximately 20 hours per week.

The responsibilities of the Youth Coordinator include assisting with transportation for court-related activities, helping youths seek employment, exposing them to positive social activities, and assisting with educational pursuits such as college applications or GED preparation. The coordinator will also mentor healthy relationships, connect youths and families with culturally relevant services, and ensure families understand the court process.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and experience working with youth is preferred. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality in handling information, and the ability to follow set rules. The role pays $17.68 per hour and includes mileage reimbursement.

The coordinator will document activities in a case management system, report neglect or abuse as mandated reporters, provide feedback on services to juvenile court staff when requested, attend meetings and court sessions as needed, conduct drug testing of youths upon request, and perform curfew checks either by phone or in person when required by the juvenile court officer.

Internships are available if approved by universities or colleges.
