Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's Cyber Crime Unit has arrested two men from Ascension Parish on various charges. The arrests occurred on Tuesday, March 12, following investigations initiated by cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Jeremy Crochet, born June 25, 1993, faces multiple charges. He was arrested for violating Louisiana Revised Statute (LA R.S.) 14:81.1 concerning pornography involving juveniles with 14 counts and LA R.S. 14:89.3 related to sexual abuse of an animal with 20 counts.

Raymond Welch Jr., born August 30, 1951, was also arrested under LA R.S. 14:81.1 for pornography involving juveniles but faces a significantly higher number of counts at 500.

The investigations into both men were not connected but resulted from a collaborative effort between Attorney General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Both individuals are currently held at the Ascension Parish Jail.
