Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's Cyber Crime Unit has taken a Sorrento man into custody on charges related to pornography involving juveniles and the sexual abuse of an animal. Jayden McConnell, 20, was arrested on April 16 for allegedly violating Louisiana laws concerning these offenses.
The charges against McConnell include 30 counts of pornography involving juveniles and one count of sexual abuse of an animal. The arrest followed a cyber-tip received by the Attorney General's office from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
This case is part of a collaborative investigation involving multiple agencies: the Louisiana Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit, the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, and Homeland Security Investigations. Following his arrest, McConnell was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
The investigation remains active as authorities continue to gather information.
