Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit has taken two Covington men into custody for alleged crimes against children. The arrests were made on April 11, 2024, by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation.

Randolph Wesley Burge Jr., born December 16, 1978, faces charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, and obstruction of justice. Karam Kamel Abdalbaqi, born June 12, 1998, is charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor.

These arrests stem from a joint undercover chat operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Participating organizations included Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Covington Police Department, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, Mandeville Police Department, United States Secret Service, and the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

A third individual was also arrested during this operation; however, that case was managed by the Covington Police Department separately.

Both Burge Jr. and Abdalbaqi have been booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail following their arrests.
