City of Bismarck seeks chief deputy clerk for municipal court

The City of Bismarck is seeking candidates for the position of Chief Deputy Clerk at the Bismarck Municipal Court. The application deadline is October 14, 2024, and the salary range for this role is between $51,058.23 and $57,440.50.

The Chief Deputy Clerk will provide management and administrative support for court operations. Responsibilities include entering complaints, issuing summonses, processing pleas, scheduling trial dates, and finalizing cases post-court appearances. The role also involves preparing payment schedules and forwarding cases to District Court for jury trials.

Additional duties encompass supervising other deputy clerks under the Clerk's supervision, issuing suspension notices and court summonses for non-payment, reviewing sentences with defendants, setting up payment plans, processing payments, answering phone calls, greeting visitors, updating the court website, preparing reports, maintaining office supplies and records.

Applicants must have a high school education or GED and sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position. This experience is typically associated with completing an apprenticeship/internship or having held a similar position for one to two years.
