The North Dakota Office of Attorney General is seeking candidates for the position of Special Assistant United States Attorney/Assistant Attorney General/HIDTA Attorney. This full-time role, offering a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 annually based on experience, requires handling drug-related criminal cases and asset forfeiture under the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program in both state and federal courts.

Candidates will be responsible for developing guidelines for drug cases and collaborating with various law enforcement agencies. Legislative drafting, committee testimony, participation in criminal justice training, and public speaking may also be required. The position is contingent upon federal grant funding and includes a comprehensive benefits package such as fully paid health insurance for employees and their families.

Applicants must be licensed or soon-to-be licensed to practice law in North Dakota and eligible to practice in federal courts. Preferred qualifications include four or more years of experience as a lead trial and appellate attorney, high ethical standards, confidentiality maintenance, excellent communication skills, and effective time management.
