Attorney General Todd Rokita has expressed his support for lawmakers addressing property tax issues affecting Indiana residents. In a statement issued today, Rokita emphasized the widespread demand for property tax relief across the state.

"I've had the privilege to travel to every corner of the state, and our neighbors, family members and friends are all calling for property tax relief. Me too," said Rokita. "They cannot be ignored, especially not by those of us elected to serve them right here in the Statehouse."

Rokita highlighted the role of his office in collaborating with legislators on their legislative priorities to ensure compliance with constitutional requirements. He noted that as Organization Day in November and the upcoming session in January approach, his office is prepared to assist any lawmaker crafting legislation aimed at reducing property taxes and alleviating the overall tax burden on Indiana residents.

"It's critical to get this tax relief right, and we are ready to work with legislators to get it right now," he added.
