The California Supreme Court made several appointments to the State Bar of California’s Board of Trustees and Committee of Bar Examiners on August 22, 2024.

Two individuals were reappointed to the State Bar's Board of Trustees, effective September 20, 2024. Four new members were named to the State Bar’s Committee of Bar Examiners, with their terms beginning next month. Attorney Alex Chan, currently serving as committee vice chair, will assume the role of committee chair for 2024-2025. Chan is a partner at Devlin Law Firm.

Attorney Alan Yochelson, a current member, will become committee vice chair for 2024-2025. Yochelson serves as Head Deputy District Attorney of Los Angeles County.

Administrative Law Judge Robert Brody was reappointed to a four-year term as an attorney member. Judge Brody works with the State of California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board Pasadena Office of Appeals.

Attorney Paul Kramer was also reappointed to a four-year term. Kramer is retired and formerly worked at the California Energy Commission.

The Committee of Bar Examiners is responsible for developing and administering the California Bar Exam, overseeing moral character determinations and admissions processes for attorneys, accrediting state law schools, and registering unaccredited state law schools.
