Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, along with Attorneys General from Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Utah, and Vermont, has joined a civil antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation-Ticketmaster. The suit was initially filed by the Justice Department in collaboration with 29 other states and the District of Columbia. The allegations focus on monopolization and other unlawful conduct in violation of Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act.
The amended complaint was filed in the Southern District of New York and includes additional details about Live Nation-Ticketmaster’s alleged anticompetitive behavior within the live entertainment industry.
“The conduct outlined in our complaint violates the law. Anticompetitive conduct hurts consumers by blocking choices and increasing prices. I look forward to resolving this case in a way that protects the public and Louisianans from such anticompetitive practices in the future,” stated Attorney General Murrill.
