The Juvenile Court in Williston, ND, has announced an opening for a full-time Juvenile Court Officer I. The position offers a monthly salary of $5,671 and is part of Unit 4 - Juvenile Court. Applications are being accepted from August 14, 2024, until September 4, 2024.

The role involves performing case management and probation services for delinquent children. Responsibilities include investigating the background of delinquent children to assist the court in determining appropriate case dispositions and developing case plans that address community protection, competency development, and accountability.

Key duties include preparing predisposition reports to assess delinquency offenses, interviewing involved parties to gather information from various sources including schools and law enforcement agencies, presenting detailed service plans to the court during hearings, maintaining regular contact with youth on probation to ensure compliance with court orders, and engaging with community organizations.

Candidates must also demonstrate knowledge of probation work principles and practices related to juvenile court procedures; local ordinances; federal and state laws affecting juveniles; individual and group behavior; word processing; and specialized court/case management systems.

Skills required include interpersonal collaboration within an agency setting; planning and organizing case plans; evaluating investigated materials; building rapport through counseling and interviewing; strong written and verbal communication for public presentations; operating general office equipment; using computer software for word processing and case management; as well as documenting case activities effectively.
