The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has rejected the summary of a proposed constitutional amendment titled “Homestead and Personal Property” due to an insufficient number of verified voter signatures.
The petition, received on July 23, failed to meet the minimum requirement of 1,000 signatures from qualified Ohio voters. The shortage was confirmed by the appropriate county elections boards.
In such cases, the Attorney General’s Office is tasked with determining whether the summary accurately represents the measure that will be presented to Ohioans. However, no determination regarding the summary was made due to the signature deficiency.
