Providence man indicted on multiple charges including drug possession and firearm offenses

On July 24, 2024, the Statewide County Grand Jury returned a superseding indictment charging Jefri Almonte, age 25, of Providence, Rhode Island, with multiple offenses. These include one count of possession of more than a kilogram of cocaine, one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one count of carrying a pistol without a license, one count of possession of a firearm while possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, one count of reckless driving, and one count of resisting arrest.

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on March 13, 2024. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant was arraigned on July 24, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court and held without bail. The defendant is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on September 13, 2024.
