Carson City, NV – Attorney General Aaron Ford announced today that he has been honored with the Thurgood Marshall Justice Award by the National Bar Association’s African American Managing Partners and General Counsel (AAMPGC) Network. The award recognizes individuals who have prioritized public service throughout their careers.

“I am honored to receive this award from the National Bar Association and the AAMPGC,” said AG Ford. “To be a public servant is to prioritize those for whom you work. I often say that serving as Nevada’s attorney general is the best job I’ve ever had because I get to work every day for the benefit of the Nevada community. To serve in this capacity is the honor of a lifetime.”

Named after Thurgood Marshall, the first African American Supreme Court Justice and a prominent civil rights attorney, this award is rarely bestowed. Past recipients include Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Justice Bernice Donald, formerly of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The AAMPGC is a network composed of more than 40 African American lawyers who currently manage or have managed an AmLaw 200 law firm.
