America First Legal (AFL) has released a second tranche of internal files from the "Homeland Intelligence Experts Group," obtained through litigation involving Ambassador Ric Grenell against the Biden Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This release is part of #DeepStateDiaries, a series that includes newly obtained documents.
Yesterday's release revealed proposals by the DHS intelligence group to expand its reach into local communities in an "ambiguous" and "non-threatening" manner, including considerations on how to get teachers and mothers to report their children.
Today's installment highlights how the Biden Administration classifies individuals likely to commit "domestic violent extremist" attacks, particularly those who support President Trump, are "in the military," or are "religious." According to the Brennan-Clapper committee's approach to national security, DHS should use being "in the military" or "religious" as indicators of extremism and terrorism, which would justify surveillance.
The group discussed that “most of the Domestic Terrorism threat now comes from supporters of the former president,” referring specifically to Trump supporters.
