Troutman Pepper was part of a national trial team that secured a defense verdict in a jury trial involving the Pinnacle hip implant in the Southern District of Alabama. The case, Ahmed v. Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Inc. et al., is the first DePuy Pinnacle trial since the completion of the multidistrict litigation (MDL).
“The unanimous jury verdict reaffirms the data and scientific evidence which overwhelmingly shows that Pinnacle is a safe and effective implant for hip replacement procedures. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and the jury’s finding,” said Troutman Pepper Partner Eric Rumanek who led the defense.
