The Sarpy County Adult Drug Court will hold a graduation ceremony and celebration on June 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place at the Sarpy County Courthouse, Courtroom #7, located at 1210 Golden Gate Drive in Papillion, Nebraska. Judge Stefanie Martinez will preside over the ceremony.

The graduation marks the completion of an intensive program for problem-solving court graduates. This program includes comprehensive behavioral health treatment, intensive community supervision, and full accountability measures. Problem-solving courts provide an alternative route through the criminal justice system for nonviolent drug-related offenders by utilizing a specialized team process within the existing court structure.

These courts aim to reduce recidivism and substance use among individuals with substance use disorders. The goal is to protect public safety and increase participants' likelihood of successful rehabilitation through validated risk and need assessments, early and individualized behavioral health treatment, frequent and random chemical testing, incentives, sanctions, and other rehabilitative services.

The judicial power of Nebraska is distributed among the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, district courts, and county courts as per the state Constitution. All state courts operate under the administrative direction of the Supreme Court. Additionally, Nebraska's judicial system includes separate juvenile courts in Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy Counties and a statewide Workers’ Compensation Court.
