Attorney General announces arrest linked to Lonoke County investigation

LITTLE ROCK – Attorney General Tim Griffin announced the arrest of Nathan Michael Pruss, 40, of Romance, owner of Cabot-based Bruno’s Right Away, on one count of Theft of Property, a Class C Felony. The arrest is part of a Lonoke County investigation conducted by Griffin’s Public Integrity Unit.

“The accused surrendered himself today to Special Agents from my office’s Special Investigations Division,” Griffin stated. “This arrest is the first in the matter of an alleged double payment to Pruss for mowing services performed for Lonoke County in June 2021.”

Griffin commended his Public Integrity Unit for its diligence and thoroughness in compiling evidence leading to the arrest. He noted that the investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Pruss surrendered at the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office and was subsequently released. His arraignment is scheduled for June 10.

About Attorney General Tim Griffin

Tim Griffin was sworn in as the 57th Attorney General of Arkansas on January 10, 2023. He previously served as the state’s 20th Lieutenant Governor from 2015-2023 and as the 24th representative of Arkansas’s Second Congressional District from 2011-2015. During his tenure in Congress, he served on several committees including Ways and Means, Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, Ethics, and Judiciary while also acting as a Deputy Whip for the Majority.

Griffin has been an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps for over 27 years and currently holds the rank of colonel. In 2005, he was mobilized to active duty as an Army prosecutor at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and served with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Mosul, Iraq. He currently commands the 2d Legal Operations Detachment in New Orleans, Louisiana.

His previous assignments include commanding the 134th Legal Operations Detachment at Fort Liberty (formerly Bragg), North Carolina; serving as Senior Legislative Advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness at the Pentagon; and various roles within U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. House of Representatives committees.

Griffin earned a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College where he graduated as a Distinguished Honor Graduate. He has also served as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas and held multiple positions under President George W. Bush's administration.

A graduate of Magnolia High School, Hendrix College in Conway, Tulane Law School in New Orleans, and with further studies at Oxford University, Griffin is admitted to practice law in Arkansas (active) and Louisiana (inactive). He resides in Little Rock with his wife Elizabeth and their three children.
