The Second Judicial District Nominating Commission has announced a vacancy for the position of district judge in Denver County, following the death of Hon. Christine Antoun on May 25, 2024. The commission will convene on June 21, 2024, at the Denver City and County building to interview and select nominees for appointment by the governor.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be qualified electors of the Second Judicial District at the time of investiture and must have been admitted to practice law in Colorado for at least five years. The annual salary for this role is $193,008. Initially, a district judge serves a provisional term of two years; if retained by voters thereafter, the term extends to six years.
