America First Legal (AFL) has initiated a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) investigation into the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) concerning a blog post titled "5 Ways Employers Can Make Workplaces More Menstruation-Friendly." The post, authored by Eleanor Delamater and Mathilde Roux, Policy Analysts in DOL’s Women’s Bureau, discusses stereotypes and stigmas surrounding menstruation but does not mention the word “woman,” instead using the term “menstruators.”
Gene Hamilton, Executive Director of AFL, stated: "Once again, the Biden Administration is attempting to erase women in the name of ‘gender ideology’ by refusing to mention the word ‘woman’ in a blog post about menstruation. While Americans are suffering under the realities of sky-high inflation, historic levels of illegal immigration, and lawlessness in the streets – the Biden Administration is focused on ‘making workplaces more menstruation-friendly’ for ‘menstruators.’ This is an insult to women across the country and AFL is determined to uncover exactly how this blog post came to be and anyone involved in its drafting or approval behind closed doors."
The Women's Bureau within DOL is led by Wendy Chun-Hoon, who volunteered for the Biden-Harris Policy Committee in 2020. Chun-Hoon previously worked at Open Society Foundations from 2009 to 2010. Other notable figures include Chief of Staff Nikkilia Lu and Deputy Assistant-Secretary Jesse Lawder.
Earlier this month, AFL alongside Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed an amended complaint and a motion for a preliminary injunction against President Biden’s Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona over Title IX rules.
