LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Legal Newsline) - An Arkansas woman has gone to court after twice being given the wrong medication at a Walgreens.

A lawsuit was filed May 2 in Pulaski County Circuit Court against Walgreen Co, operating as Walgreens #5730, by Ivory Smith for alleged negligence in providing incorrect medication.

Smith - represented by Catherine Ryan of Dodds, Kidd, Ryan & Rowan law firm - alleges that she was given diabetes medication instead of her regular blood pressure medicine in May 2022 at a Walgreens pharmacy in Little Rock.

She claims to have taken the wrong medication for approximately 45 days leading to injuries and increased blood pressure. Furthermore, she alleges another incident in August 2022 where she was again provided with incorrect medication.

Smith is seeking damages for medical expenses incurred, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, and physical impairment.
