WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - A lawyer says he was wrongfully kept from visiting with his mother at a Florida country club and has gone to court.

A lawsuit was filed April 22 in Palm Beach County Circuit Court by Philip J. Sporn on behalf of himself and his mother, Enid Michaelson, against Bocaire Country Club, Inc.

The suit alleges that the defendant maliciously and wrongfully prevented Sporn, his wife Hillary Sporn and their three children from visiting Michaelson at her residence within the gated community from February 10 to February 15, 2024.

Despite numerous pleas by Michaelson, who is 92 years old, access was denied causing severe emotional distress to both plaintiffs, the suit says.

The suit claims Michaelson tried to walk the half-mile to the guard house to see her family on several occasions. Sporn, who practices personal injury litigation in New York, is representing himself.
