ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - A visitor to Disney World says a ferry taking him to the park crashed, causing him to sustain injuries and fall into a trash can.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is facing a Florida lawsuit filed April 1 in Orange County Circuit Court by Justin R. Tripp, who alleges he was injured while aboard a Disney ferry named "Richard F. Irvine" due to negligence on the part of Disney and its employees.

According to the complaint, the ferry was overcrowded and Tripp was forced to stand during the voyage from a Disney parking lot to the Magic Kingdom theme park.

As the ferry approached the docking area, it allegedly did not slow down and struck the dock at an unsafe speed. This resulted in passengers being thrown about, with Tripp hitting his head and neck against a steel pillar before falling into a trash can.

The plaintiff accuses Disney of failing to maintain the ferry in a safe condition, not performing required preventative maintenance, failing to properly inspect the vessel, and not warning passengers of an imminent collision. He also alleges that Disney violated Florida Statute § 327.33 by operating the ferry carelessly.

Tripp is seeking damages for his injuries. He is represented by Jacob Munch of Munch and Munch.
