Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Cigna Healthcare has selected the firm as a recipient of the 2023 Gold level Healthy Workforce Designation, the highest level of this recognition, for demonstrating a strong commitment to fostering a sustainable, healthy work culture.
The Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation evaluates organizations based on the core components of their well-being program, including leadership and culture, program foundations and execution, policies and accommodations and additional areas. Organizations recognized with this designation set the standard of excellence for organizational health and vitality.
“We are thrilled to receive Cigna’s Healthy Workforce Gold level designation,” said Chief Talent Officer Kristen Marola. “As a workplace law firm, we share our clients’ goals to emphasize inclusivity and respect for the contribution of every employee. Their well-being is a top concern in every aspect of our operations, and we take pride in developing new initiatives aimed at mitigating factors adversely contributing to our team members’ well-being and ensuring every team member can receive the support they need.”
Cigna’s Healthy Workforce designation particularly highlighted the foundations of Jackson Lewis’ well-being program, the firm’s innovative health-related policies and supportive accommodations, and the variety of communication channels the firm uses to highlight the importance of well-being, such as the internal well-being newsletter, frequent presentations at firm meetings and summits, and clear and easily accessible content on the firm’s intranet.
Jackson Lewis’ Talent team directs strategic efforts towards fostering a workplace where seeking help is encouraged, employees feel supported and factors potentially impacting well-being are recognized and, ideally, addressed. Jackson Lewis hired Well-Being Director Gavin Alexander in 2022 to lead these efforts, and the firm recently began introducing various policies and training designed to help employees both recognize when a colleague may be struggling with a serious well-being challenge, and understand how to respond in such circumstances.
