LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) - Class action lawyers have targeted Tru Fru, claiming its packaging contain too much air.

Tru Fru, a Utah-based company, is facing a lawsuit filed Feb. 16 by Jessica Argueta in Los Angeles Superior Court. The defendant has since removed the case to federal court.

The case alleges that Tru Fru uses deceptive packaging for its popular line of cookies. According to the complaint, the packaging does not accurately inform consumers about the actual quantity of the product, leading them to pay extra for empty space.

The plaintiff argues that she relied on the size and label of the opaque package when making her purchase. She claims she would not have bought the product or paid a premium price if she had known that the size and label were misleading.

The plaintiff seeks an injunctive relief order from the court to ensure accurate and lawful packaging and labeling by Tru Fru.

This case follows several similar lawsuits against other companies over materially identical claims. Scott Ferrell and Victoria Knowles of Pacific Trial Attorneys represent the plaintiff.
