Morgan Lewis partners Giovanna Cinelli, Kenneth Nunnenkamp, and David Plotinsky have been named to the Foreign Investment Watch (FIW) Top Advisors 2024 list, which recognizes leading professionals who provide advice and counsel concerning national security review of foreign investments in the United States and overseas. This marks the fifth consecutive year Giovanna has been recognized as a Top Advisor by FIW and the second year in a row for Kenneth and David. Additionally, the firm once again has more lawyers included on the annual list than any other organization.
Giovanna, leader of the firm’s international trade and national security practice, has been a practitioner for more than 35 years. She counsels clients in the defense, finance, software, research and development, and high-technology sectors, among others. She advises on a broad range of issues affecting national security and export controls, including the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States (CFIUS), cross-border due diligence, complex export compliance matters, and export enforcement.
Kenneth, chair of the firm’s CFIUS Working Group, represents clients in international trade and national security matters before US federal courts and government agencies, including the US Departments of State, Commerce, Homeland Security, Defense, and Treasury. His practice involves internal investigations and disclosures, including making voluntary disclosures and responding to government demands, as well as federal court defense against government actions. He also advises on compliance counseling and training, transactional due diligence, and statutory submissions to US government agencies.

He guides clients through government national security review processes for foreign investment, including review by the CFIUS and Team Telecom. David also advises clients on other government-related matters including congressional investigations, outbound investment, export controls, sanctions, forced labor laws, telecommunications licensing, and supply chain security.
