ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - The parents of a Florida student allegedly stabbed in the hand with a pencil during Spanish class are suing the alleged assailant and his school.

A lawsuit was filed Feb. 19 in Orange County Circuit Court against Jennifer Yan and The Parke House Academy by Tammie Bizzle, the parent and natural guardian of John Doe. T

The complaint alleges that on April 21, 2022, Jane Doe, the minor child of defendant Jennifer Yan, negligently caused a pencil to be stabbed into the hand of plaintiff's minor child, John Doe.

Both children were students at The Parke House Academy at the time. It is also alleged that Jane Doe had previously injured another student with a pencil and that The Parke House Academy had knowledge of this prior incident.

Furthermore, it is claimed that during the incident, the Spanish teacher employed by The Parke House Academy was negligent in supervising the students as he was watching his phone with earbuds in. This lack of supervision is said to have contributed substantially to John Doe's injuries.

Tammie Bizzle is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for her son's injuries which include permanent injury to his body as a whole and pain and suffering of both a physical and mental nature, among others.
