WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - A Florida wrongful death lawsuit pins the blame for a plane crash on a botched inspection of the aircraft.

Stacey L. Wolford, the personal representative of the late Stanley Sands' estate, filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 against BI Aviation (also known as Bold Impressions Aviation, Inc.), David Griffith, Professional Air Solutions, Inc., A Plus Aviation Services, LLC and Wilmar Andres Ramirez (also known as Wilmar Andres Ramirez Benitez). The case was filed in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County.

The complaint states that Sands died in an aviation accident involving a Cessna 172P aircraft on May 26, 2023. The plane had departed from Palm Beach County Park Airport in Lake Worth and was climbing when it began to descend and roll right until it crashed.

The defendants are accused of failing to properly inspect and evaluate the aircraft before its sale to Airmax Aviation.

BI Aviation and Professional Air Solutions, through their employee David Griffith, allegedly performed the annual inspection on the Cessna before its sale. A Plus Aviation Services is also implicated for performing a pre-purchase evaluation through its agent Wilmar Andres Ramirez Benitez.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for medical and funeral expenses incurred by Sands' estate and survivors due to his death. They also seek damages for lost future support and services from Sands.

Richard Schuler of Schuler, Weisser, Zoeller, Overbeck & Baxter represent the plaintiff.
