BOSTON (Legal Newsline) — Patients of Dr. Derrick Todd are suing his employer in Massachusetts state court, alleging he was allowed to sexually assault women with pelvic, breast and rectal examinations.
Nancy Larsen, on behalf of herself and all others similarly situated, filed a complaint Oct. 11 in Suffolk County Superior Court against Derrick Todd, M.D., The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc., and others, alleging sexual assault and battery, negligence and other claims.
According to Larsen's class action, Todd was a practicing physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in the Division of Rheumatology, Inflammation and Immunity from 2010 through 2023. She alleges that during his practice at Brigham, he performed inappropriate pelvic, breast and rectal exams on patients.
She further alleges Todd provided "primary care" for his rheumatology patients and sexually assaulted them. Larsen claims the defendants' negligence in their failure to supervise, manage and provide oversight of Todd and allowing him to practice through July of 2023, when he was investigated by the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Board of Registration in Medicine and formally resigned.
Larsen and the class seek monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Andrew Meyer, Jr., and William Thompson of Lubin & Meyer PC in Boston.
