Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is proud to announce that the firm has achieved Mansfield Certification, administered by Diversity Lab. Ogletree Deakins is among more than 240 leading law firms to achieve the 2022-2023 Mansfield Certification.
The Mansfield Rule is a rigorous, year-long certification program that aims to boost and sustain diversity in law firm leadership. Certified law firms must consider at least 30 percent historically underrepresented attorneys—including women, underrepresented races and/or ethnicities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and/or those with disabilities—when appointing to leadership roles, promoting to equity partnership, and more. Additionally, part of the certification process requires firms to enhance transparency related to leadership roles, advancement processes, and compensation policies.
“Ogletree Deakins has long been committed to cultivating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. We strive to lead by example and raise the bar for our entire profession,” said Lia Dorsey, Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer. “Achieving and maintaining Mansfield Rule Certification is one of the firm’s strategic goals. I am pleased that we’ve achieved Certification again this year and am proud that diverse individuals make up more than half of the firm’s Board of Directors. Additionally, nearly 50 percent of those on our Management Committee, which also includes our local office and administrative leadership, are diverse.”
Ogletree Deakins has committed to participate in the next certification cohort.
