ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — A woman alleges she suffered severe burns and bruises after a Florida massage establishment used metal massage balls on her back.

Theresa Cintron filed a complaint July 6 in Orange County Circuit Court against Mall Massage Spa Inc., alleging negligence.

According to Cintron's complaint, she was a customer at the Mall Massage on Colonial Drive in Orlando on Nov. 8, 2022. She claims she went for a back and body massage and that during the massage, an employee used "metal massage balls" on her back without obtaining any consent or giving any warnings.

Cintron alleges the massage balls were causing her severe pain and she asked the therapist to stop three times. She further alleges she suffered burns and bruises to her back that required medical attention. Cintron claims Mall Massage's negligence for failing to obtain any medical history, failing to give adequate warnings about the hazards of the massage balls and for failing to properly train its employees.

She alleges Mall Massage was negligent for also failing to ensure its employees using the metal massage balls were properly supervised and licensed.

Cintron seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Attorney Matthew Rabin in Orlando..
