TAMPA, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — Baltimore Orioles pitcher Mychal Givens is accusing his ex-wife, along with others who posted and retweeted allegedly defamatory statements, of libel, claiming they are attempting to sabotage his career.

Mychal Givens filed a complaint June 15 in Florida's Hillsborough County Circuit Court against Tiffani Givens, Fred Beman and Jessica Beman, alleging libel and other claims.

According to his complaint, Mychal Givens and Tiffani Givens were married in 2014, have two daughters together and were divorced in 2019. He alleges that Tiffani Givens repeatedly violated the "parenting plan" and court-issued "time-sharing" determination for their divorce and denied him his ability to spend time with his children.

He further alleges Tiffani Givens trolled him on social media by posting photos of his daughters with her new boyfriend stating he was their "father figure." Givens also claims his ex-wife made defamatory false and misleading statements about him in her attempts to pursue a domestic violence injunction

He also claims the defendants, who include Tiffani Givens' father, have targeted the relationship with his daughters and his reputation among Major League team executives, coaching staff and fellow players, as well as his standing in the community.

Givens seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Eric Maier of Older, Lundy, Koch & Martino in Tampa.
