ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — A Florida man alleges a chicken bone severely pierced his mouth after eating what was supposed to be "boneless chicken" at a P.F. Chang's in Orlando.

Joseph Saunders filed a complaint June 3 in Orange County Circuit Court against P.F. Chang's China Bistro and Cannon Cochran Management Services Inc., alleging negligence and other claims.

Saunders, according to his complaint, was eating at the P.F. Chang's at the Mall of Millennia in Orlando on Jan. 30, 2022. He alleges that after eating what was supposed to be the boneless chicken, a one-inch bone pierced the lower floor of his mouth, causing severe bleeding and damages his teeth, gums and lingual nerve.

Saunders claims the defendants' negligence for failing to inspect and maintain control over their food and failing to warn of the possible presence of bones in their "boneless chicken." He also claims the defendants failed to properly train and monitor their employees and did not implement policies and procedures that would have prevented the bone or other foreign object from remaining in the food.

Saunders alleges that he has lost the ability to pronounce words due to his mouth damage and incurred medical, dental and nursing care expenses.

Saunders seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Joshua Sachs of Henderson Sachs PA in Orlando.
