Chambers Global has released its 2023 guide, ranking Baker McKenzie in 316 practice areas and in 391 lawyer categories.
Continuing to strengthen its performance, Baker McKenzie achieved 13 new rankings, in areas including Projects & Energy, Restructuring & Insolvency and Investment Funds. The Firm also gained 14 promotions, nine of which are moves into the top Bands, 1 and 2, including rankings for Corporate/M&A, Life Sciences, TMT: Media and International Trade/WTO.
The Firm has also maintained Band 1 rankings for Tax, TMT, Climate Change, Employment, Employee Benefits, Intellectual Property, Franchising and Outsourcing.
In the lawyer categories, the Firm gained 62 new rankings and recorded 37 promotions. Baker McKenzie's rankings for female lawyers also climbed from 98 (last year) to 102 this year.
Chambers Global is the leading international legal directory, covering over 200 jurisdictions around the world. Rankings are based on interviews with clients and peers as well as firm submissions.
Practices and individuals earning a Band 1 ranking are noted by the guide for achieving the highest, "technical legal ability, client service, commercial vision and business understanding, diligence, value for money, depth of team, and other qualities most valued by the client."
