Jodi Schwimmer, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Financial Industry Group (FIG) and Randy Eckers, a finance partner in FIG were both named Rainmakers in CRE Debt, Equity, and Finance by Globe St. Real Estate Forum. Schwimmer and Eckers are among 23 individuals who were honored for getting deals done while “navigating an environment where capital markets were becoming volatile, underwriting was tightening and interest rate hikes seemingly now the norm...”
Schwimmer, which Globe St. credits for “having closed hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) and similar debt securities during her 21-year industry career,” was commended for her leadership of Reed Smith’s CRE-focused structured finance and securitization practice, concentrating on esoteric structures, debt issuances, non-performing loan securitization structures, bespoke commercial real estate collateralized loan obligation structures, preferred equity raises, repurchase/warehouse facilities, and bridge-to-securitization structures.
Eckers has more than 23 years of experience in representing a wide range of lending institutions, private equity funds, debt funds, banks, bond investors (including, GNMA and FNMA investors) and property owners in commercial real estate financing, structured financing and secondary market transactions, including in the origination, purchase, sale and work-out of CMBS, portfolio, bridge (including, “bridge-to-agency”), syndicated, mezzanine, construction, single-family rental development and USDA loans, as well as preferred equity investments and credit facilities. In his Globe St. profile, Eckers is also referred to as an expert in Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) financing, which provides long-term, low-cost financing for energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy projects.
