Michael Lacy and Mary Zinsner, partners at Troutman Pepper and members of the firm’s Consumer Financial Services Practice Group, have been named to the Virginia Law Foundation’s 2023 Class of Fellows.

Nominated confidentially by their peers, fellows are recognized for leadership in their practices, their communities, and the Commonwealth. The Class of 2023 joins a group of more than 600 of the best and brightest legal practitioners in Virginia who are committed to the highest ideals of the law and exemplify the concept of citizen lawyer.

Lacy, a first-chair trial attorney who leads the firm’s Consumer Financial Services Practice Group, handles complex business disputes, consumer class actions, and high-exposure cases. He focuses his practice on consumer financial services, corporate, and real estate litigation.

Zinsner, who serves on the Virginia Law Foundation’s Board of Directors, advises financial institutions in high stakes litigation matters in state and federal courts nationwide. She applies her experience handling every type of consumer claim to help financial services providers mitigate risk and effectively resolve their matters.

Lacy and Zinsner were inducted into the Fellows Class of 2023 on January 19. Troutman Pepper Partners Robert Angle, David Anthony, Pam Belleman, and John Owen Gwathmey and former and retired Partners F. Claiborne “Jay” Johnston, Neil S. Kessler, Jacob Lutz, Stephen A. Northup, C. Cotesworth Pinckney, Stephen D. Rosenthal, Robert D. Seabolt, and Anthony Troy previously have been named Virginia Law Foundation fellows.

The Virginia Law Foundation Fellows program was created in 1983 to encourage and recognize excellence in the practice of law and public service and to support the programs and objectives of the Foundation. Members comprise outstanding lawyers, law professors, and retired members of the judiciary who are nominated by the Fellows Committee and elected by the Foundation Board.

Troutman Pepper has more than 200 attorneys who regularly advise financial services providers and is nationally recognized for its prowess in the space. A two-time winner of Law360′s Consumer Protection Practice Group of the Year award, Troutman Pepper’s Consumer Financial Services team helps clients resolve litigation, provides regulatory guidance, and assists with investigations and actions initiated by federal and state government agencies.
