TAMPA, Fla. (Legal Newsline) — A son alleges wrongful death against a Florida cancer treatment center that allegedly continued to administer chemotherapy drugs to his mother despite her allergic reactions.

Bryan William Hunt as personal representative of the Estate of Lisa Hunt filed a pro se complaint Sept. 23 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court alleging negligence, medical malpractice, wrongful death, breach of contract and other claims.

According to Hunt's complaint, his mother Lisa Hunt began treatment at Florida Cancer Specialists in Brandon for stage IV lung cancer on Feb. 18, 2020. He alleges that due to suffering an allergic reaction to Opdivo and Yervoy, his mother "quickly deteriorated" and passed away within weeks.

Hunt claims the defendants continued to treat his mother and administer Opdivo and Yervoy despite her documented allergic reaction. He further claims the defendants covered up their negligent misconduct and that they fraudulently deceived her by putting her on the drugs even though she was not compatible. Hunt alleges the defendants breached their fiduciary duties to his mother as their patient which caused her death.

Hunt seeks monetary relief of more than $10 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief.
