ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - A lawsuit over a fatal accident involving a vehicle lift that killed an automotive service technician seeks information from Pep Boys.
Jose Ayala Medina's daughter Maria Ayala Graterol filed suit against Pep Boys on Sept. 7 in Florida's Orange County Circuit Court. The suit says Medina was injured on Feb. 19 while working on a vehicle and later died.
Graterol has attempted to find out what company was responsible for the maintenance of the vehicle lift but has been unsuccessful. She also says she believes Pep Boys has a video of the accident.
"A pure bill of discovery is warranted to identify proper parties against whom a valid cause of action will lie once their identities are known," the suit says.
Graterol seeks information relating to the purchase and maintenance of the vehicle lift, as well as videos, photos and statements taken by witnesses. She is represented by Andrew Knopf and Robin Treto of Paul Knopf Bigger in Winter Park.
