FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - Coca-Cola faces a class action lawsuit that claims ingredients in Fanta belie the claim they have "100% natural flavors."

Antionette Smith filed suit Sept. 2 in Florida federal court, alleging the dragon fruit-flavored version of Fanta contains more malic acid than natural flavors.

"Unbeknownst to consumers, the ingredient list does not disclose that this malic acid is an artificial ingredient which imparts dragon fruit flavoring to the product," the lawsuit says.

The malic acid does not come from dragon fruit but is actually artificial, the suit says. This violates regulations concerning labels, it adds.

Lawyers pursuing the case are Will Wright and Spencer Sheehan.
