ORLANDO, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - A Florida man says his lawyers failed to act on his potential lawsuit and he lost out on compensation as a result.

Oliver Ambroise filed a legal malpractice suit June 29 against Marriaga Law Group, doing business as Lawyers Title Network. His suit says he approached the firm shortly after an automobile accident that occurred on Sept. 26, 2017.

Lawyers there accepted his case, but "negligently and carelessly handled the file so that the statute of limitations passed without advising the plaintiff of the status of the case," the suit says.

As a result, his case was never filed and he did not obtain compensation for the injuries he sustained or medical costs he incurred, the suit says.

Ambrose is represented by Michael Sing and Matthew McNamara of Winter Park.
