Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Sonja Trom Eayrs to the Minneapolis office as a partner in the Family Law Practice Group.
“With a Master of Laws in tax and estate planning, Sonja is uniquely equipped to advise high net worth clients in marital dissolution proceedings that involve complex financial holdings,” said Andrew S. Hansen, Fox’s Minneapolis Office Managing Partner. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the office and expand the reach of Fox’s nationwide Family Law team to Minnesota.”
Eayrs guides clients through matters involving business valuation, property settlement, child and spousal support as well as custody and parenting time. She leverages her knowledge of tax law, dispute resolution and estate planning to resolve family law cases in ways that minimize conflict and help clients achieve their goals. She has advised clients in marital dissolution proceedings with asset values ranging from $1 million to more than $200 million.
Eayrs understands the challenges faced by small business owners. A farmer’s daughter and business manager of her family farm, Eayrs has detailed knowledge of agricultural operations. She understands the complexities of running a business, including general management, financial and tax planning and associated family dynamics. She also serves as a Rule 114 qualified neutral mediator under the Minnesota General Rules of Practice and uses those skills when negotiating solutions for her clients.
She earned her LL.M. in Tax and Estate Planning from the University of Miami, J.D. from Marquette University and B.A., cum laude, from Carleton College.
Prior to joining Fox, she was a partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP.
