NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - A product that was supposed to leave a woman's hair soft and manageable instead left her bald, a new lawsuit says.

Beverly Harris sued PDC Brands on Jan. 20 in New York County Supreme Court, alleging the company's Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream caused all of her hair to fall out.

The suit says she used it in April 2020, believing it to be a moisturizer for dry hair. Instead, after applying it, her hair began falling out until she was left completely bald, she says. Despite contacting the company and being promised restitution, nothing of the sort ever happened, the suit says.

"Harris was caused to sustain serious injuries, including shock and mental anguish," the suit says. "Plaintiff was caused and will continue to be caused to incur expenses for medical care and attention, was rendered unable to perform normal activities due to great mental anguish, and has sustained a resultant loss therefrom."

Harris' lawyer is Ezra Glaser.
