Jones Day issued the following announcement on Jan. 20.

Edward Chang and John Vogt, partners in Jones Day's Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice resident in the Firm's Irvine Office, have again been selected by the Daily Journal for inclusion in its list of Top Cyber Lawyers in California. In this supplement, the Daily Journal highlights lawyers at the cutting edge of cybersecurity law.

Mr. Chang was recognized for counseling some of the world's most innovative companies facing novel litigation challenges. He also provides comprehensive guidance related to incident response/regulatory compliance related to data privacy and cybersecurity matters for his institutional clients. He is a true "hybrid" cybersecurity and data privacy lawyer, who has both extensive class action data breach and privacy litigation experience, as well as significant incident response investigation experience to support his clients' day-to-day cybersecurity and privacy needs. He has served as lead counsel in hundreds of class and individual actions, complicated business disputes, regulatory investigations and cybersecurity incident response and privacy compliance matters in his 16-year career. He was named a National Cybersecurity & Privacy "Rising Star" by Law360 and LexisNexis in 2019 and a "Super Lawyer" by California Super Lawyers magazine for more than five consecutive years.

In his more than 20-year career at Jones Day, Mr. Vogt has defended more than 100 class actions involving data breaches and consumer privacy issues. In one recent groundbreaking decision, he successfully argued that a data breach that affected only publicly available information—someone's name, address, e-mail and phone number—could not give rise to concrete harm. He regularly provides advice to clients on their cybersecurity and data privacy obligations and leads teams involved in state attorney general and government regulatory investigations over cybersecurity and data privacy issues. He is a founding member of Jones Day's Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice. The Daily Journal has named him to the "Top Cyber Lawyers in California" list for multiple consecutive years and The National Law Journal has recognized him as a "Cybersecurity Trailblazer."
