Armstrong Teasdale announces that Partner Paige Justus, Of Counsel Alina Shell, Solicitor Philippa Kwok and Associate Emily Nuvan have joined the firm in offices across the U.S. and in the U.K. They join a roster of more than 350 attorneys at Armstrong Teasdale internationally, and add to the firm’s growing presence in the corporate law and litigation sectors.
Justus joins the firm’s Corporate Services practice group in Denver, Colorado, with extensive experience in both corporate law and trusts and estates. She advises individuals, families and business owners on all aspects of estate planning and business succession planning. She assists clients with trust administration and probate proceedings, and also has extensive experience negotiating premarital agreements and cohabitation agreements. Justus further focuses in mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law, and has represented companies of all sizes on a wide range of corporate transactions, including experience with cannabis and hemp transactions. Justus leverages her deep experience to advise clients on tax provisions and implement tax-saving strategies in corporate transactions. Justus also assists nonprofit clients with formation, applications for tax-exempt status and the preservation of tax-exempt status.
Shell is a skilled litigator in the firm’s Las Vegas, Nevada, office with more than a decade of experience representing clients in state and federal civil and criminal matters, as well as in appellate court. She has deep experience handling matters involving civil rights, prisoner rights, public records and court access, employment law, complex commercial, state and federal appeals, sex offender registration, state cannabis law and state post-conviction proceedings. Shell often participates in local and national training seminars for criminal defense attorneys and civil practitioners, instructing attorneys on issues such as persuasive legal writing, persuasive sentencing advocacy, public records litigation and civil rights litigation.
Kwok is a solicitor in the firm’s London office. She works with clients in the sports, media and technology sectors on matters including commercial contracts, and also has experience in corporate law and capital markets. Prior to being named a solicitor, Kwok was a trainee at Armstrong Teasdale. She joined Armstrong Teasdale when the firm combined with Kerman & Co. in early 2021. Kwok also has prior experience as a paralegal, focusing on corporate and capital markets.
Nuvan is an associate in the firm’s Litigation practice in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she focuses on criminal law. With prior experience as a law clerk and judicial intern in U.S. District Court for the District of Utah and a strong interest in criminal justice reform, she has a deep understanding of prosecutorial and criminal procedures, which she brings to each client representation.
