Carolyn Boucek Returns to Eckert Seamans

Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome back Carolyn Boucek to the firm’s Pittsburgh office. She recently served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Christy Criswell Wiegand of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Boucek returns to Eckert Seamans as an associate in the Labor & Employment and Commercial Litigation groups. She helps employers and business entities prevent and address litigation related to allegations of employment discrimination and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.  In her commercial litigation practice, Boucek helps businesses develop and implement strategies to succeed in litigation surrounding supply-chain integrity, vendor disputes, corporate governance, and contract breakdown. She has experience drafting crucial case documents, such as pleadings, discovery materials, has conducted extensive motions practice. 

While in law school, Boucek was a co-recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in International Criminal Law and Constitution Law of the European Union.  She also worked as a Research Associate at the Avon Global Center for Women & Justice (now known as the Cornell Center for women, Justice, Economy, & Technology).

Active in the community, Boucek is a council member of the Federal Court Section Allegheny County Bar Association. She also volunteers her time as a Big Sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor 2.0 Program.

Boucek is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and earned her J.D. with public law concentration from Cornell Law School (2017), where she served as the managing editor of the Journal of Law & Public Policy. She also holds a certificate in Conflict Resolution from Cornell University (2020). Boucek received a B.A. in philosophy and history, summa cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh (2014).
